M-Health Congress in Moscow: results of the fifth conference dedicated to innovations in medicine

On March 5, Smile-Expo company held the fifth M-Health Congress in Moscow. Dedicated to digital medicine, the event gathered experts from various fields: telemedicine services, state officials, lawyers, developers of smart gadgets and software. The congress featured 30 speakers and 10 companies.

Presentations of speakers

We invited top experts on digital medicine including representatives of Yandex, TeleMed, and Mail.Ru Group.

Head of Corporate and Medical Law practices at law office Aronov & Partners Mikhail Varyushin delivered the first presentation of the event. He shared an expert opinion on controversial issues involved in the implementation of the Russian law on medicine.

CTO at Yandex.Health Mikhail Payson made a presentation on the possibilities of telemedicine. As the speaker reported, one of the goals of the service he represents “is to give users verified articles based on evidentiary medicine”.

Sergey Kuznetsov, Head of Innovation Unit at TeleMed, talked about MedTech solutions for the corporate sector, startups, and business. He explained how telemedicine could enhance HR brand awareness and how VR would maintain staff health. The speaker also mentioned the role of healthcare management and Fast Human Med Help in modern business.

Evgeny Paperny, Head of Health project at Mail.Ru Group, made a presentation on the new user profiling technology helping to promote pharmaceutical goods and medical services. He showed its function by the example of three products: Viagra, Vizarsin, and Cialis.

Irina Gritsenko, medical lawyer and founder of autonomous non-profit organization ‘Center for settlement of disputes in medicine’ touched upon distance learning. As she commented, such a way of knowledge gaining allows specialists to train and exchange experience not spending a lot of money and saving time.

Discussion

M-Health Congress featured two panel discussions. The first one was dedicated to remote monitoring of chronic patients and rehabilitation. Boris Zingerman, member of the ICT expert board at the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, highlighted the necessity of telemedicine in Russian healthcare. He told about patient after-surgery remote monitoring.

Within the second discussion, speakers analyzed AI prospects in medicine and challenges of its integration into the industry. Sergey Sorokin, CEO at Interlogic and founder of Botkin.AI, asserts that to develop AI in healthcare, one should introduce the efficiency. According to the expert, doctors should not be afraid of losing their jobs, as the system will perform only routine tasks.

Demo zone participants

Traditionally, the fourth M-Health Congress included a demo zone for the participants to present their health monitoring devices, telemedicine services as well tell about their services.

Products showcased at the demo zone:

  • blockchain infrastructure SkyChain with six neural networks. These AI-based systems diagnose various diseases;
  • premium relaxing massage chair Yamaguchi for home, spa salons, or fitness centers;
  • a watch phone and a GPS pendant with a drop sensor from the Knopka Zhizni project. These devices are produced under the brand of Aimoto. They allow people to monitor a health state. The company also introduced telemedicine services by DocDoc.
  • Ritmer, a device for heart activity monitoring produced by ‘Business Incubator Medicine of the Future’ LLC. The gadget is attached to the chest and synchronized with the mobile app to give recommendations;
  • neuromuscular stimulation device Orion 2309 from Orion. It is designed for killing the pain and muscle inflammations;
  • a remote medical support service from TeleMed. It enables users to obtain advice of doctors and health lawyers;
  • telemedicine complex MVS VEGA from Medical Visual Systems. It allows to control medical equipment, engineering networks, and data flows;
  • personal data protection service by SiteSecure. It was presented by the B-152 project that assists businesses in legal compliance;
  • service package from A&D for manufacturing household and medical appliances, automating functional diagnostics, and adjusting data transfer as part of telemedicine.

Prize drawing

Not long before M-Health Congress, we conducted a contest and awarded the winners at the conference. The drawing was supported by Knopka Zhizni, a marketplace for medical services DocDoc.ru, and FITMOST, a startup offering a single pass in 700 fitness centers across Russia.

The winners received FITMOST’s passes and Knopka Zhizni’s Aimoto smart watch connected to the DocDoc.ru service.
